AGM
If you wish to get involved in any of the positions see brief role descriptions below and if you have any questions, please reply to this email or to any of the committee members directly who would be happy to answer any questions! If you are planning on running for a role at the AGM please see the releveant email for the form to fill in. Please note only members of the college can run for a position and any member of the college is able to vote at the AGM. The perks of being on main committee include the opportunity to interact with distinguished scientists, the opportunity to contribute to college and university life, a free annual dinner ticket and the opportunity to attend free/subsidised dinners with speakers. Decide on and organise events for the society to run and allocate funds appropriately; manage committee; funding applications; hosting events and inviting speakers. Secretary: Supporting president with all things booking related. Filling in speaker forms, book venues/dinners/accommodation and taking minutes during committee meetings. Publicity officers: Facebook, Instagram, website, talks.cam.ac.uk, mail chimp templates, flyers etc. Events Officers: Organise and ensure smooth running of events and help come up with ideas for socials etc. Logistics Officer: Buy food and drink and run balloting for talks/events and generally help out with logistics when required. Computing Officer: Setting up a projector before each talk/ help with livestream if required; manage the website and anything else IT related. Speaker Liaison: Assist with finalising speaker invitations and correspondence. Help write short bios for speakers for their introduction. Greet/show around speakers when they arrive in Cambridge.
